The Taos Rabbit Hunt was a ceremony that was performed the day before each fiesta dance day. The hunting party would ride out and hunt for rabbits with only the use of the bows, arrows, clubs and dogs. Modern firearms were not used in respect of their forefathers and the old traditional ways of procuring food. The hunt would bond the riders with the past and remind them of the ancient ways of life.
